Sharon Lawner Weinberg is Professor of Applied Statistics and Psychology and former Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs at New York University. Both her undergraduate and doctoral degrees are from Cornell University. She is proud to have been the recipient of a JFEW scholarship to help support her undergraduate studies at Cornell.
Her current research focuses on issues of equity in higher education and the application of quantitative methods to address them. Her most recent book Diversity in American Higher Education: Toward A More Comprehensive Approach, co-edited with NYU colleague, Lisa Stulberg, was published by Routledge Press (2011). She also co-authored with former graduate student, Sarah Abramowitz, Statistics Using SPSS: An Integrative Approach, published by Cambridge University Press (Second edition, 2008). She is the 2008 recipient of the NYU Steinhardt Award for Teaching Excellence.
