ur partner institutions select recipients for the programs listed below. Students cannot apply directly to these programs.
Scholarships for Teacher Education
This program assists individual women while addressing teacher shortages in math and science in New York City's public schools. Awards are made to graduate students who are willing to make at least a two-year commitment to the New York City public schools.
Partner Institutions:
- The Teaching Opportunity Program (TOP) at CUNY (summer stipends)
- Teachers College of Columbia University (scholarships)
- NYU School of Education (scholarships)
Scholarships in the Arts
These scholarships are offered to students in the performing arts whose crafts require considerable amounts of rehearsal time and whose careers are not typically highly remunerative.
Partner Institutions:
- Juilliard School
- Manhattan School of Music
- Mannes College of Music
- Tisch School of the Arts at New York University
Scholarships for Social Work and Public Service Students
This program provides scholarships to students in social work, public health and public administration so that they can graduate with less debt and can afford to remain in their chosen field. At each school of social work, one scholarship is made available to a student pursuing work in gerontology, a specialty in which there are serious shortages.
Partner Institutions:
- The schools of social work at Fordham University, Hunter College, New York University, Yeshiva University and Columbia University (including the double degree program at Columbia and the Jewish Theological Seminary)
- Mailman School of Public Health of Columbia University
- Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, NYU (including the double degree program with the Skirball Department of Judaic Studies)
