Application Instructions and Deadlines
JFEW is no longer considering letters of
inquiry for the 2014-15 academic
year. The submission deadline for programs to begin in the 2015-16 academic year will be announced in June 2014.
Letter of Inquiry Requirements
Letters of inquiry may be up to three pages, and must include a budget.
They should take into account the characteristics of our programs and include the following information:
criteria and process for selecting intended scholarship recipients, which should be consistent
eligibility requirements and include a minimum GPA of at least 3.0
- Graduation rates of students with these criteria
placement rates of students who graduate with these criteria
of typical students in the program and examples of what they do when they
- How the
program will create a cohort of scholarship recipients
programming, summer internships or supportive services for the cohort, and
how this will contribute to student growth and development
of program evaluation
Themes and Focus Areas
JFEW scholarship programs typically focus on a theme related to professional development. The foundation is particularly interested in programs in connection with:
- Public Undergraduate Education
- Public and communal service
JFEW scholarships support women in degree programs only. The foundation does
not pay for fringe benefits or overhead.
