• Elina Azrilyan arrived in the United States five years ago from the Ukraine with her mother and sister. She is a junior at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institue, where she has a 3.75 GPA. Her mother is just building her life in the U.S.; tuition for two would be many times more than her salary.
• Michelle Moses-Einstein, a senior at Bard College is preparing for a career in public health. Michelle works two part-time jobs and still finds time to chair Bard's student life committee and last year served as president of the Jewish student organization.
• Stella Umutoni, a refugee from Rwanda and a human rights activist, is a student at the New York University Ehrenkranz School of Social Work. Stella wants to be a social worker because she is committed to positive social change and justice. She is currently working and studying to aid the underserved populations in New York City.

he Jewish Foundation for Education of Women (JFEW) is a private, nonsectarian organization that provides scholarships to women with financial need who live in the New York City area. We have been supporting women in attaining their educational goals and becoming economically independent for more than 125 years.

JFEW helps women of all backgrounds and all ages. We currently assist over 500 women each year with scholarship support.
